Genealogist Chris Paton revealed the news on his blog (scottishgenes.blogspot.com) that the contract to provide the 1921 Scottish census transcription has been awarded to Queen’s University Belfast. According to the National Records of Scotland website, the census will become available to the public ‘in the latter half of 2022’, although the Queen’s University contract notes that two six-month extensions could be made available at the purchaser’s discretion.
With thanks to Fergus Smith of Old Scottish for the original heads-up on this news.
