NW200 duties done and dusted.
I’m fresh home from Northern Ireland and this year’s Northwest 200 didn’t disappoint – for so many different reasons. The sun shone on us, the Guinness tasted as creamy as ever, and the racing was fantastic, especially between Glenn Irwin and Davey Todd, who fought it out tooth and nail in all their races. I really thought Davey was going to claim his first Superbike victory this time around, but I’ve been saying that for a couple of years now. To lead all of those laps and push Glenn as hard as that around the Northwest 200 is a big statement and he can hold his head high. He's doing everything right at the moment, so it’s only a matter of time now before he seals the deal – maybe it’ll come at the Isle of Man TT next week!? Glenn, on the other hand, is riding on the crest of the wave he jumped on last year, and it’s brilliant to see all his hard work paying off. To turn up at Oulton Park and win all three Superbike races was pretty special, but to then head over to the NW200, a full year on from his last roads excursion, and win both Superbike races and claim his recordbreaking 10th consecutive victory was simply awe-inspiring.
