‘I went into a really dark place.
I kept thinking:
“Oh my God, what’s happening to me?”’
A couple of years ago, Seema Malhotra went from being a bright, sunny, indefatigable fashion designer and reality TV personality to someone who was constantly tired and forgetful, anxious and snappy.
“I went into a really dark place,” she says, speaking from her gorgeous home in Hale, near Altrincham, where she lives with husband Sandeep and their sons, Neil, 25, and Aaron, 22. “I kept thinking: ‘Oh my God, what’s happening to me?’”
It wasn’t until she was diagnosed as being menopausal and treated for the symptoms that the Real Housewives of Cheshire star could feel like her old self again.
SPEAKING OUT
The fear and confusion she felt has motivated the 50-year-old founder of online fashion brand Forever Unique to speak about her experiences to help educate and perhaps reassure others going through the same thing.
And she has rallied her Real Housewives co-stars to make a documentary about the subject, which will be shown on ITVBe next month.
