In this edition of History Scotland, we’ve been treated to ten minutes with the killing time of the 1680s (page 59). It was also a period which would become the subject of enduring fascination for historians of Scotland from the 18th century to the present, perhaps unsurprisingly, given the high drama, high stakes and great loss of life.
