BEHIND THE DESIGN

Internal bifold doors

Internal bifolding doors are a great option if you’re a fan of open-plan living but you know you will still need to shut off some spaces from time to time.

Most modern homes are centred around open spaces that flow naturally from one area to another as it can make even the smallest home feel light and spacious. However, while it may work when you are entertaining lots of guests in your home, it’s less of an advantage when you want space from your children (or partner!), or, like many others these days, you have to work from home. It’s therefore vital to design flexible spaces in your home that can serve a number of different uses, especially now that we are all spending more time in the house.

As you can see from this shot of one of our recently completed self-build homes in Worcestershire, an internal bifold door can work well in this scenario; an open-plan space can easily be divided into separate rooms using this feature.
