My home is like a museum of my travels

Clare’s living room contains pieces from all around the globe, from Cambodia to California
GOOD IDEA
Don’t be afraid to mix and match artwork from different genres
Welcome to my home
A bit about me
My name is Clare Morton and I’m an interior designer. I live with my two cats, Pantera and Le Tigre, named after the bands.
Where I live
My home is a twobed new build on a unique development in Harlow, Essex.
What I wanted to change
I loved the modern architecture and didn’t want to change anything structurally, so I have expressed my style through the décor.
How I made it my own
I have combined items I have collected from abroad with classic design pieces and second-hand finds.
My favourite part
The downstairs is my most-loved area. I’ve gathered lots of sentimental items together in one place to form an eclectic display which is both creative and full of memories.

Living room
‘The living room is the heart of my home and my favourite place to be. It’s where all my mostcherished things are, including my gallery wall of artwork from my travels to Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. I also have a display of baskets from California and a collection of West German pottery. The black and white scheme continues throughout the downstairs living space and is punctuated with pops of accent colour; for the living room, I opted for neon pink, expressed through the Oliver Bonas cushions.’
