Turn your Wi-Fi login into a QR code

Allow others to easily connect to your Wi-Fi by wrapping up the details in the form of a matrix barcode

To get the most out of your iPhone, it’s a good idea to delve into the Shortcuts app and familiarise yourself with what it can offer. Here you will find a wealth of power at your fingertips aimed at making light work of otherwise laborious tasks. You can also make life infinitely easier for others as we demonstrate with this particular trick.

We will show you how to create a shortcut that will take your Wi-Fi network details, including your password, and use them to create a QR code. The idea is that you can share the code with others and let them speedily scan it for the purpose of gaining access to your Wi-Fi. It’s particularly great if you have guests round since it allows for an easy login process. What’s more, it hides the actual details of your password from them, too. Above everything else, though, it’s just very cool, right?
