The term ‘articulation sets’ refers to the ability to control and switch between different playing styles, usually when working with sampled acoustic instruments such as strings or brass. Articulations enable you to achieve different types of sound – for example pizzicato, legato, staccato, etc. Developers of sound sample libraries include samples of these playing techniques to provide an interpretation of an instrument that sounds like it was played by a human. Logic’s own Studio Strings instrument contains a selection of several articulations, so follow along to learn how to switch between them to create ultra-realistic string parts.
