THE ULTIMATE iPHONE & iPAD BUYER’S GUIDE

Everything you need to know before you buy your next iPhone or iPad

Be sure to check whether you are eligible for Apple’s Education discount. It’s an easy way to knock a few pennies off the full price.

It’s that time of year again, iCreate folks. All the Apple events are done for the year, and we now know what the next generation of iPhones and iPads looks like. And what a line-up it is!

As Apple aficionados we’re blessed to have the very best choice on the market. We are well and truly spoilt for choice. And this year is certainly no different. The new iPhone 13 range brought with it not one, but four new models to the market. As you can imagine, the difference between the cheapest and most expensive of the iPhone 13 models is sizeable (in more ways than one), but which iPhone is right for you is still a very personable choice. Throw into the mix last year’s iPhone 12 lineup, and the ever popular iPhone SE, and you can begin to imagine the type of pounding headache you’ll get when it comes to picking your next iPhone.

And the iPad is no different. Apple has graced us with a brand-new iPad mini and updated iPad. That’s only half the Cupertino giant’s tablet line-up. Over the next ten pages we’re going to guide you through the murky waters of buying an iPhone and iPad. We’ll give each device the hallowed iCreate test, giving you all the pros and cons you need to make a proper buyer’s decision. We know these devices could last you years, so you need to be well informed.

If you’re on hunt for an upgrade to your accessories, you’ve come to the right place too. We really do treat you. Without further ado, let’s get started. Firstly, the sensational iPhone 13…

There’s a new family in town

Apple’s latest and greatest is here to wow you

Generally speaking, every two years Apple makes big changes to its iPhone lineup. The years in between were when we would see the ‘S’ devices – similar designs but improvements made under the hood. 2021 falls into that category and, true to form, Apple has been busy making incremental updates to its iPhone family rather than anything truly revolutionary. Given the iPhone 12’s success – that of brand-new design, new processor and OLED display – the range of iPhone 13s has quite a tall order to get us to part with our hard-earned cash.

But, even if the changes are small, every little helps. And with tweaks to the camera, a new processor and better battery life, it’s hard not to fall in love with Apple’s latest and greatest. And, just like last year, there are four models to choose from. In price order, from the cheapest – iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Firstly, let’s take a look at the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13. And what better way to introduce them than Apple’s very own senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak. Speaking at the event that launched the iPhone 13 range, he said: “Our customers rely on iPhone every day, which is why we’ve made iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini more powerful, more capable, and more fun to use.” Before enthusiastically giving a rundown of the big features. “Both phones have beautiful designs, industry-leading performance, and advanced camera systems with impressive computational photography features, all with incredible durability, water resistance, and a big jump in battery life to ensure customers can depend on their iPhone when they need it. All of this, tightly integrated with iOS 15 and with privacy built in, make iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini an unbeatable choice.”
