Knowledge base Visual Look Up
If your device uses Apple’s A12 Bionic chip, then you might be able to use Visual Look Up to identify things in photos. If a photo is compatible, the ‘i’ icon will become ringed – tap on it and then tap on the icon that appears on the photo to get info. Currently, it only seems to work in the US.
Live Text is a great new addition to iOS, as it recognises useful information within your photos or online images and allows you to perform actions with it. You can also use Live Text in the Camera app – just point your iPhone camera at a photo or image with text, then tap the indicator icon. From here, you can quickly do things – make a phone call, translate the text and more. To turn on Live Text for all supported languages, make sure you are running iOS 15 or later and then go to Settings>General>Language & Region and enable ‘Live Text’. You can now start utilising this incredibly useful feature.
