Imagine you’ve placed an order for a pizza on your iPhone. You may get a notification telling you that your order has been accepted, that it’s in the oven, or with a delivery driver. When keeping up with the latest scores, you may also be pinged whenever a goal has been scored or a player has been booked. But imagine if such information was delivered in real time from your Lock Screen or the Dynamic Island. That’s the concept of Live Activities. Not only can you keep your iPhone locked to view information, but you can interact with the feature too. Updates are pushed via notifications or the app, and since third-party devs can make use of Live Activities, we’re seeing more and more coming on board.
