Inside Crochet  |  Issue 166
As I sit here writing this on a very grey day, spring feels a long way off. Then I look at the images that were beautifully put together for this issue of Inside Crochet and my heart leaps! They’re full of light, sunshine and fun and there’s so many perfect patterns to fall in love with.
Of course, there will still be a chill in the air, so Louise App’s gorgeous Happy Place Jacket is perfect for throwing on to potter around in the garden, wearing on the couch surrounded by your enviable stash of yarn or jazzing up afternoon tea. I’m also rather taken with Catherine Venner’s beautiful Daffodil Wrist Warmers – they truly capture the joy of new blooms and are oh-so practical. For a flash of colour, Emma Leith’s Persephone Granny Cowl also doubles as a headscarf or neckerchief and is an ideal stashbuster.
The new shoots of spring are celebrated perfectly with Kwannie Cheng’s fabulous Ostara Wreath, named for the pagan spring goddess. Helen Anderson takes us on a yarny trip to the Netherlands with her wonderful Double Dutch Leg Warmers and her Bollenstreek Blanket, which is named after the area where the tulips are grown and is chock-full of retro vibes.
There’s more floral fun in the shape of Emily Ashbourn’s Petal Power Cushions, Victoria Kairis’s Titania Headphones Crown and Emma Wright’s pretty Marguerite Bag.
I hope you’ll love celebrating the joys of spring with us – at least in yarn form – while the days lengthen, buds appear and the seasons slowly start to shift.
