Two days with Auntie
Scot Goes Pop

Rarely if ever has the sound of Duncan Hothersall shouting “James!” felt so welcome
My fellow iScot columnist Paul Kavanagh mischievously asked on his blog a few months ago whether his readers had ever noticed either himself or me being interviewed on the BBC. Obviously we all know what point he was making and it was a very good one, but in the interests of fairness towards a much-maligned broadcaster I should point out that in fact I’ve been interviewed on BBC television twice, albeit a long time ago. Two or three days before the independence referendum (it might even have been the very morning that the notorious “Vow” was published by the Daily Record) I was invited to appear on BBC Breakfast to debate with an antiindependence blogger, who it will astonish you to hear turned out to be none other than Better Together’s one-man online presence Duncan Hothersall.
