RHS SCHOOL GARDENERS OF THE YEAR
This year’s RHS Young School Gardener of the Year competition has been won by 11-year-old William Rae from the Edinburgh Academy Junior School, Edinburgh. Growing everything from radishes to rhubarb, William enjoys sharing his love of gardening with his schoolmates: instigating a garlic growing competition and mentoring his fellow pupils.
The judges commented: “It’s amazing to see someone so young showing true initiative by creating an alternativ to sports for his fellow pupils. He is clearly a very natura knowledgeable gardener and is very considerate of the people and the planet around him.”
