WIDGETS ARE ESSENTIALLY miniature apps that encapsulate the key features and essence of the app they come from. The best ones are those that can condense a complex app into its key parts and make them easily available.
That makes widgets excellent utilities. Apple’s Batteries widget is a good example — it shows how well powered up your devices are and requires no further interaction. It’s straightforward, simple, and self–contained.
