Match Fishing Magazine December 2023 Back Issue

It’s the last issue of the year and former World Champion and Daiwa-backed Will Raison is on the front cover. Will believes that he gets a bite from every fish in his swim during the winter and he does that by fishing fine, even when carp could be on the cards. With balanced tackle, careful feeding and perfect timing when switching lines, Will’s approach makes him very difficult to beat and this month he explains exactly how he does it.

Also in the December issue, David Haynes interviews Lee Kerry, the most in-form feeder angler in the country at the present time. David chats with him about his journey to the very top and it was such an in-depth interview that we’ve had to split it into two parts, so this month it’s part one and it’s a fascinating read about Lee’s match fishing career to date. There’s plenty more top content too from Nick Speed, Andy Power, Matt Parsons, Rob Wootton, Mark Malin, Sean Cameron, Kye Jerrom and Matt Godfrey plus we’ve got a report on this year’s Feeder King Final at Southfield Reservoir and our own Shimano Aero Leger Cup Final at Lindholme Lakes.

On the tackle front, there’s plenty of of kit in our New Gear section and this month we’ve concentrated on the tackle that will make ideal Christmas presents. Also, Alex Bones has had a busy month testing the new Daiwa Airity X-Slim feeder rods, an exclusive to Benwick Sports Tri-Cast slider rod and the new Guru A-Class 13m Power Pole worth £599, which is a superb piece of kit that one very lucky angler is going to win in our latest competition.

Match Fishing

Unfortunately Match Fishing Magazine is not available in my country, so I had to choose the digital copy. I think this is a fantastic magazine, with great balance in terms of the different fishing methods, advertisement, tackle introductions. The details of the articles are amazing, both the pictures and the descriptions are clear and very well detailed. Reviewed 18 January 2021
