I’ve had a rollercoaster few months. Early on when COVID-19 struck I was keen to see if I could help out on the frontline. Encouraging others to get back to ‘the wards’ and then not doing so myself seemed a bit disingenuous.
So I filled in my online forms, completed my online training, got in touch with a ward manager who had acted as my last mentor when I was a student nurse, and first boss when I qualified, and turned up to my local hospital to do a couple of shifts.
