Takom 1:35 AML-90 French Light Armoured Car • Kit No. 2077
The Auto Mitralleuse Legere is a four-wheel drive light armoured car designed by the French company Panhard during the 1950s to meet the requirements of the French army for a light, small vehicle armed with a powerful gun.
The two main versions of the AML are armed with a low velocity 90 mm gun or a 60 mm mortar. More than 5,000 have been produced in France and South Africa since 1960.
The AML has been sold to more than 30 countries and has seen action in most of the modern conflicts on one or both sides, from the Falklands to Desert Shield.
The Takom kit provides markings for one Iraqi Army vehicle and this is the one that I have depicted.
