Having objects other than trains moving adds another visual dimension to a layout. This kit by Noch – originally announced last year – features a stable block and circular arena – or manège – with a horse and rider being lunged on a long lead by a riding instructor. As well as the horse and figures rotating, the unit also provides electronic sound effects of the horse neighing and hoof beats.
Movement is achieved by an underfloor drive unit and magnet, with the facility to adjust the speed. It can be powered from a standard 12-16V AC or DC output on a model railway controller. The sound module is hidden in the stable block, which is supplied in the form of a laser-cut kit. Detailed instructions and adhesive are supplied.
