Burning mouth syndrome, also known as oral dysesthesia, is a condition which is characterized by a burning pain or unpleasant sensation affecting the tongue, lips or entire mouth. In addition to this, there may also be a feeling of a dry mouth, an unpleasant taste and numbness. These symptoms may be heightened when talking, kissing and eating hot and spicy foods.
