Patchwork and Quilting Magazine August 2013 Back Issue

25 Reviews   •  English   •   Hobbies & Crafts (Sewing & Knitting)
Summertime can be very busy with various things taking up our time, and it sometimes means that our own quilt making doesn’t get the time we’d like to spend on it. But we can still spend some time thinking about those projects we might like to embark on!
Travel creates the ideal opportunity for inspiration, but it can also come from enjoying the smile on an impish toddler’s face and picking a few daisies in the garden! We have got some great features to inspire you this month, from creating an outstandingly beautiful grid and letter based quilts in Grid References, and in contrast, The Quilter’s Games is a light-hearted sports report from last year’s Olympics. We also take a quick sneak at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham.
And if you do get the chance to do some sewing we have plenty to inspire you. Chain of Hearts is a scrappy quilt that uses pre-cut strip packs. Intertwine is another great quilt to help you hone your rotary cutting skills, and Funky Bag shows you how to create 3D flowers to add a bit of style to your bag making. Enjoy the issue!

Patchwork and Quilting

Nice ideas but geared more towards the beginner. I like it because my daughter can help. Reviewed 16 February 2020
