Patchwork and Quilting  |  September 2011
More techniques for you to try this month with Love Birds, a rotary cut quilt and a more traditional quilt, Toasty. On a floral theme we have a 3D Sunburst Flower Cushion and Mackintosh Rose, a stylish hanging with fusible bias binding. From this month until December, we will have instructions for the Tree of Life Sampler, featuring an appliqué centre panel surrounded by pieced blocks.
There are quilts from Romsey Quilters’ Exhibition 2011 and in A Gift of Quilts – The Legacy, the chance to see a few of the 500 quilts being made for the Olympics 2012. Read about The Making of a Quilting DVD and Meet Lynne Quinn to discover how a very dark cloud in her life turned out to have a silver lining! We look back to Victorian times for the popular technique of Crazy Quilting and to current times to see how the Chase High School Club is encouraging young quilters.
