Get your festive fingers at the ready for this issue’s fabulous collection of Yuletide quilts. First up, in her Land of Joy Table Runner, Sadie Yeomans delights with this Nordic- inspired table piece. In Candles on the Tree, Sarah Williamson uses bright and cheery but traditional Christmas colours, in a wall hanging that is sure to liven up any living room and in Winter Wonderland Mandy Munroe shows us an alternative winter celebration style with this modern Christmas tree quilt. Trees are a strong image for us here this year, and in Little Christmas Tree Quilt you can make all the preparations for a cool Yule with a combined appliqué and pieced quilt by Hilary Gooding for Makower UK. Wendy Sheppard treats us to two fantastic projects using RJR fabrics this issue, and we’re delighted to have her! In Wreath Table Runner, she showcases beautiful batiks using piecing and appliqué techniques. In Yuletide Snowflakes she makes a folksy statement with a star-pieced quilt using Lynnette Anderson’s Starry Night fabrics. December also sees the final part of Regan Purcell’s Block Sampler quilt. This time she shows us how to make the final four blocks - Celtic Heart, Bow Tie, Chenille Heart and Seminole Patchwork - and finish the quilt. Finally if you’re looking for that last minute Christmas make because you’re short on time, why not have a go at Dawn von Grabler-Crozier’s Poinsettia Christmas Stocking which uses modern fabrics and a festive flower – it’s sure to be a hit for Christmas Eve.
