‘SYPHON’ MOVES NORTH: Class 37 No. 37674 arrived at its new home at the Strathspey Railway at the end of November (pictured at Boat of Garten on the 28th) –a year after it left the Wensleydale Railway. The loco spent Christmas 2020 in a layby near the Embsay Railway before moving to haulage firm Allelys’ base for storage until a new permanent home could be found – something that was delayed by Covid-19 lockdowns and certain restrictions on moving locos by road in the north. The ‘Syphon’ will now be returned to operational condition, and repainted into BR green with its original number No. D6869.
