Atingle down the spine for the first revived women's fours final: the event briefly replaced the W4+ in 1992 (it was about time) but was then dropped in favour of LW2x when lightweights were introduced to the Games in 1996. The Dutch and Aussies had shown the best speed in the opening races, and we already knew that there would be no defence of the 1992 title for Canada, relegated to the B-final. But could Australia convert their 2019 world championship title into Olympic gold? The answer was yes, but not without considerable effort.
