Insta360’s original One X was the first ‘capture everything, crop later’ 360° action cam that felt user-friendly. Its successor promises an even more appealing blend of fuss-free use, portability, ruggedness and outlandish shooting modes.
The look is similar: it’s shaped like a rubbery black pill with two buttons (one for power, one for the shutter) and a slightly bulging fisheye lens on each side. But the colour touchscreen is new, and so is the IPX8 waterproofing: it’s good for depths of 10m, or 45m if you buy the optional dive case. We suspect most people will just appreciate the fact that you can use it in the rain.
