The Searcher  |  November 2025
What’s new in this issue?
This month’s exclusive cover story is again from the Ninth Region MD, who, on a recce, discovered three Roman coin hoards. Michael Dawson recounts how events unfolded of the discovery and subsequent excavations. Chris Davis discovered another Roman coin hoard after 40 years in the hobby. Having detected with his Dad since the age of seven, it was fitting that his father was with him to watch him unearth the find of a lifetime.
Other highlights include a report by #TeamSearcher member Hope Bunce on Detectival and Sophie Haydock shares the day she found an Early Medieval pin on the foreshore of the Thames. Adrian Marsden writes the first of a series of articles on Roman zoomorphic brooches. In Metal Detecting Research Secrets, David Villanueva’s topic this month is ‘Sacred Sites For Hidden Finds’ and Neil Ham and Scott Sibbald field test the XP HF2 coil. Of course, there’s much more to inform and inspire you with the pages this month.
