Kenya is one of Africa’s top safari destinations, and for good reason. It has a number of world-class parks that are commonplace in most itineraries, topped by Amboseli, Tsavo and of course the Maasai Mara. Almost every species of animal you can think of in relation to East Africa can be seen on the Mara’s wellwatered plains. But there is plenty to enjoy in Kenya, and it is worth looking in the spaces between the mainstream attractions to discover some unexpected highlights.
