With her 90th birthday just around the corner, the Queen has plenty to look forward to. and although her reign has been tumultuous at times who can forget her ‘annus horribilis’ in 1992, or the public outcry after the death of Princess Diana? There’s no doubt that the stability of the royal household is in safe hands. Because despite the recent blip that saw them branded as ‘workshy’ and ‘lazy’, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have proved to be the saviours of the royal family. and, perhaps surprisingly, the Queen is said to credit part of that to the once maligned Carole Middleton mother of the duchess.
