Writing Magazine

December 2023 Unleash your writing and see it take off with the new issue of Writing Magazine! In December’s edition we encourage you to explore what you can do with your words, with creative writing advice, exercises and inspiration all aimed at giving you the tools to write better and consider new avenues to explore in your work. One issue of perennial fascination to writers is the unreliable narrator, so this month, we’ve taken a deep dive into that topic in the esteemed company of Chips Hardy, the co-creator of TV series Taboo, one of the most original and thought-provoking examples of an untrustworthy protagonist in recent years. In this issue you’ll also find advice on writing lost voices from history, weaving folklore into your fiction, making your short stories shine and giving the scary children trope in horror your own twist. In the packed December issue you’ll also find brilliant writing and success stories from WM subscribers, writing masterclasses, the latest competitions and publishing opportunities – in fact, everything you need to get you filling blank pages with wonderful words of your own!

I love this magazine, and being in New Zealand find my access can be restricted. So finding it available through this site made my year last year. It's helpful, and being an early career writer, has helped in developing my craft and finding the right contacts.
So thank you!

Writing Magazine

I really like writing magazine. The only downfall is the old fashioned layout - it looks like a magazine from 15 years ago. Perhaps this shouldn't matter but when attracting creative types it may well do. The content is great
