JOANNE FROGGATT
Since the blinds were lowered at Downton Abbey for the final time at the
end of last year, the actors playing its fictional occupants have enjoyed
varying degrees of success. Michelle Dockery, who played Lady Mary, is starring in US TV series Good Behaviour, while Lily James (Lady Rose) wowed in the BBC’s epic War and Peace. But it is Joanne Froggatt, who played loyal housemaid Anna Bates, who seems most in demand. Not that it’s surprising she did, after all, win a Golden Globe for playing Anna in addition to being nominated for three Emmy Awards. But back to the present and the shy looking Yorkshire lass has no fewer than six major film and TV projects in
production or due for release over the next few months.
