How I Learned to Play with My Son

I always wanted to be a mom. I often dreamed of playing with my child. We would build block towers as tall as us then knock them over, play dress-up while watching our favorite Disney movie, create amazing art pieces I would frame all over the house, or read endless books about pirates or princesses. My dreams always consisted of what we would play, but not how.
I remember him being so small. His tiny hands wiggling, and his chubby feet dangling over the edge of his bouncer seat. I sat in front of him, eager to play. I shook the rattle and smiled big. He stared past me, lip quivering. Then came the scream.
