MY WEEK IN CARS
Mustang Day filled Gaydon air with the sound of rumbling V8s
SATURDAY
No idea why it is, but American cars fill me with optimism, and none more than the mighty Ford Mustang, one of which (foolishly) I’ve never owned. I side-stepped the weekend chores to head for Gaydon early to enjoy the Ford-backed ‘Mustang Day’, complete with cars, burgers, live music, a visit from Ford’s Britain and Ireland boss Lisa Brankin and a sneak preview of an updated ’Stang they will launch later this year. There were hundreds of great cars and keen people on hand. Attendees were orderly, but such was the size of the V8 population that a pervading rumble could be enjoyed at all times.
