“IN THE HUGE swing to imported cars in the 1970s, Opel became an established make in Britain, after earlier abandoning of the ‘nocompetition’ policy, and General Motors was faced with make and dealer duplication. Now all are being rationalised under the name Vauxhall-Opel,” we relayed in 1981.
