LEXUS RZ
Brand’s first bespoke electric car introduces an exclusively by-wire steering system
TESTER’S NOTE
In terms of its external dimensions, the RZ slots between the NX and RX in the Lexus SUV range, but it gives more rear leg room than either. JD
TESTED 28.4.22, CASTELLOLI, SPAIN ON SALE AUGUST
There’s a lot that we could tell you about the eye-catchingly angular new RZ 450e, the first bespoke electric car from Lexus. We could highlight the fact that it’s built on the e-TNGA platform already used by both the Toyota bZ4X and the Subaru Solterra, that its two motors in combination produce 309bhp, or that there’s a 71.4kWh battery under the f loor that should give it a range of more than 250 miles. But what you really want to know is what this Lexus doesn’t have, which is a direct connection between your fingertips and terra firma.
