Knowledge is power
In such times of change and uncertainty, education has never been so important
Ah, the school days - whether you look back with warmth that your only real problem was the amount of homework you had, or relief that you no longer have to figure out the meaning of Pi during a maths lessons - you now might consider your education a thing of the past. However, as the environment and Earth continue to change at an alarming rate - the ice caps are melting, temperatures are increasing and water levels are rising - we’d argue education is of more importance than ever. You don’t need to be a scientist that understands the inner workings and intrinsic details behind greenhouse gases and plant biodiversity, but knowing the smaller bits of wisdom that can equip you and those around you to live a greener and more considered life is something we can all aim for. The surge in veganism over the past few years, for example, demonstrates a wealth of people that have opened their minds to the impact their diet has on the planet. The numerous climate change protests and birth of Extinction Rebellion back in May 2018, shows the huge amount of activists that appreciate time is running out and want to do something for the planet. It’s simply never too late to learn new information and use that to create a positive impact. After all, the more we know, we more we can change.
