Estate development ousts self build plan
A site in Petersfield, Hampshire, which was allocated for custom and self build housing in the town’s Neighbourhood Plan back in 2016, has been ditched after the developer won approval to instead build an 85-home estate, citing a lack of interest for bespoke homes in the area. The local councillors queried the deviation from the original scheme and questioned how much effort was made to contact potential self builders, but the new proposal was backed by the South Downs National Park Authority.
