A collection of Chinese art, unseen on the market for nearly a century, will kick off Woolley & Wallis’ two-day Asia fest in Salisbury on May 22-23.
The 29-lot group has passed by descent from the family of Prof John Norman Collie (1859-1942), a British scientist, mountaineer and explorer. Much of Collie’s original collection was sold at Sotheby’s in a dedicated two-day sale in 1943.
