This unused postcard, right, showing the bonfire to celebrate the coronation of George V in 1911*, at Ocker Hill, near Tipton in Staffordshire, costs £40 from Michael Jay. He trades as Days Past, an online dealership in postcards from 1900-30.
He will be exhibiting at the York Card Expo International.
Jay’s current stock numbers 30,000 cards, which he sells to a worldwide customer base at prices from a few pounds upwards. Popular subjects for his buyers include topographical, social history, football, cricket, golf, transport and railway stations.
