The Olive collection, a major assemblage of vernacular furniture, treen and delftware pieced together by the son of a West Country dealer, is to be offered this month, writes Laura Chesters.
Buying at sales including the collections of Simon Sainsbury, Syd Levethan (Longridge) and John and Judith Adler, Pelham Olive built up his collection with the advice of two co-founders of the Regional Furniture Society – his father, dealer Gabriel Olive, and friend Victor Chinnery.
