A unique Frise Monnaie Du Pape cire perdue vase, designed in 1920 that forms part of the John Nemeth collection at Bonhams (see story right). The vase has a thumbprint underside (detail) that the auctioneers believe is likely to be René Lalique’s himself. The estimate is £25,000-30,000.
Lalique glass has long been a world-famous brand. But for René Lalique (1860-1945), it represented a second career.
