Among the most eagerly-contested lots in the Paul Reeves: An Eye For Design sale at Lyon & Turnbull on February 14 was this set of Royal Worcester porcelain wall brackets, c.1865, allegorical of the four seasons.
Two 10in (26cm) high similar brackets are pictured in Henry Sandon’s factory biography Royal Worcester Porcelain from 1862 to the Present Day. However, this is the only known complete set outside the Dyson Perrins Museum.
