Elstob & Elstob’s inaugural sale at Bedale Hall in North Yorkshire on March 24 will include this large exhibition vase.
Standing 18in (46cm) high, the vase was designed for an international trade fair in Buenos Aires in 1931 by William Moorcroft (1872-1945) and is accompanied by a handwritten note of authentication by his son Walter. Decorated in the ‘Autumn leaves and berries’ pattern and finished with a rare flambé glaze, the piece is estimated at £6000-8000.
