This Islamic-inspired Art Deco compact by Cartier is decorated with black enamel and a diamond-set framed portrait of a noble woman.
It contains an inner compartment with two sections for a powderpuff and powder and is signed Cartier with French control marks and a rubbed maker’s mark possibly for Henri Lavabre, one of the major workshops in Paris working exclusively for Cartier from 1906-21.
