JOINING Lochgilphead Golf Club from Inveraray and playing – and winning – his first competition was George Morrison Jr. He played in the Kilcolm Cup on Saturday and carded a fantastic 41 points beating Jamie O’May on a countback.
On Sunday the club participated in the Ping mixed doubles for the first time and nine couples competed for the chance to play at Gleneagles in September. Players thought they had landed in Spain as they played in temperatures reaching 25 degrees.
The weather obviously really suited Roddy McDonald and Fiona McLeod who won with 39 points beating Colin Penman and Ele Hunter by one point.
