IT HAS taken so long for the wheels to grind that many observers believed the Inveraray masterplan – launched with a flourish all those years ago – had been shelved.
Not so, and this week Argyll and Bute Council gave the nod to a massive scheme that will transform the Royal Burgh. It is a bold move, and let’s hope that there is plenty of employment for the new Inveraray residents in years to come.
Against a backdrop of declining population, this should help, but quality transport and telecommunications infrastructure are essential. They do not currently exist.
