At their September meeting, the Friends of Brodick Castle were updated on the past year at the castle and the future developments by assistant manager Chris Mills, head gardener Tim Keyworth and collections manager Paula McEwan.
The numbers visiting the castle and country park were up on previous years. The ongoing work in the gardens is continuing and everybody agreed the gardens are looking the best they have for a while. Paula described the ways they will protect the carpets in the future. Chris explained the process for the fire protection of the castle.
The friends have given the castle two picnic benches which have been placed outside the reception and visitor centre, and more funds to the garden team to help with the replanting of the Tresco border.
