The Arran Development Trust has asked to point out that it has no association with the proposed housing development in Glen Cloy, highlighted in the Banner last week.
As reported, planning planning permission for 18-house plots beside Montrose House in Brodick is being sought from North Ayrshire Council. The application is by Arran Estates but some people seem to believe the new Arran Development Trust is involved, despite the fact it was not mentioned in the article.
In a statement, the trust said this week: ‘The Arran Development Trust is a community-led organisation which has been formed, among other things, to find ways to assist with the well-documented lack of affordable housing on our island. A number of concerned parties have contacted the Arran Development Trust, under the impression that the proposed Glen Cloy development is connected with our work and, in some instances, to express the very real concern about the apparent absence of affordability.
