GEORGE LESLIE LTD had a number of challenges to overcome when it won the tender in November 2015 to redevelop Brodick Ferry Terminal.
Apart from being one of the highest value public contracts for an island in Scotland at around £30 million and the biggest single-handed project George Leslie had undertaken, the work had to be undertaken in one of the busiest passenger ferry ports in Scotland.
‘A lot of thought, before we even started on site, went into how we were going to manage it’, said Neil Doherty, contracts director in charge of projects. ‘Ferry operations had to go on unhindered throughout the construction – and they did.’
