Arthritis Digest  |  2017 Issue 2
A strong theme has emerged while we’ve been looking at the latest arthritis research for this issue: the potential impact of diet. Fibre is gaining interest amongst experts as a way of controlling inflammation and therefore reducing arthritis symptoms (see page 8). We’ve looked at a new study about dietary therapy in inflammatory arthritis on page 17, and towards the end of the issue, on page 29, we report that foods high in antioxidants might be an important way of relieving symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Elsewhere, we review biological therapy in rheumatoid arthritis with the help of Prof Iain McInnes and meet someone who has benefited from the new generation of drugs. And malnutrition, a much-neglected subject, is discussed by our expert dietitian, Kiri Elliott.
Whatever happens, don’t miss the exclusive interview with actress Miriam Margolyes, whose osteoarthritis story, and advice, is nothing short of inspirational.
